About these lists
Each list shows common words first, then less common words that are still valid in many word games. Letters with fewer than a handful of words don't get their own page. Our strongest general-purpose openers from the common list are AROSE, ARISE, RAISE, EARLS, LASER — each tests five different high-frequency letters.
Words come from open, public-domain word lists (see credits) with slurs and most profanity removed.
