HintNook is built and run by Tajbiul Rawol, a software engineer based in Australia. It started as a simple question — why are most word-game helpers slow, cluttered and full of pop-ups? — and turned into a set of fast, focused tools that work well on a phone.
What makes our tools different
- Fast. Pages are plain HTML with very little JavaScript, and every search runs on your own device, so results appear almost instantly.
- Private. The letters and clues you type are never sent to our server.
- Honest about words. Every word in our 274,081-word list carries a commonness rating, so everyday words come first and rare ones are clearly marked.
- Clean. We remove slurs and most profanity from every list.
Where the words come from
We combine open, public-domain word lists with frequency data from the SCOWL project. The full details and licences are on our credits page.
